Well Exams for Men and Women

A wellness exam is an annual physical exam that promotes wellness and health. Due to a wellness exam, health issues may be detected at an earlier stage. During this annual physical exam, the patient’s height, weight, pulse, and blood pressure are all taken by the staff at the clinic. The physician performs an exam from the head to toe in order to evaluate vaccination status, recommend blood tests for the evaluation of any common health issue, and discuss the preventative health problems such as cancer screening.

The primary difference between a WELL WOMAN EXAM and a WELL MAN EXAM is that the female exam includes a pelvic exam that generally consists of a pap smear whereas the male exam includes a prostate check. As an element of the annual physical, regular blood tests might be taken for the screening of high cholesterol, diabetes, among other issues. You might be asked to come again for a follow-up. This follow-up visit might consist of a discussion on prevention and risk factors of health problems which were discovered during the exam. It might also consist of information for promoting a healthy lifestyle for both you as well as your family.

The main purpose behind these visits is the screening of diseases, assessment of risks of any future medical issues, encouragement of a healthy lifestyle, updating of vaccinations, and maintenance of a healthy relationship with the doctor in case of any illness.

For all women aged 40, mammograms are highly recommended and are referred outside of the office.
